Finding the Plot
While I’m still in the process of the final book of the Department for Mutated Persons trilogy1, I’ve been considering some novel ideas floating around in my head - one of which is Our Terrible Gods.

Setting the Scene
Picture a world where the Greek Gods were ‘real’, established normality of our modern lives. What would that look like? This has been the question I’ve been pondering for a couple of years. That isn’t what the book is really about, because - ya know - metaphors and allegory. But that was a starting point to ask some harder questions and channel some truly disturbing observations I have made over the past decade of my life.
But we’ll get to more of that when you read the thing.
In-Stream
So I’ll be posting chapters, notes, and some general aspects of my writing process as we go. This won’t be quite like my process with The Department for Mutated Persons, but that’s a good thing. It was time to change things up.
Speaking of ‘different than Department’, the tone of this novel is going to be very different as well. Seeing as the tagline says that it’s a dark comedy, the sense of optimism and genuine earnestness of the Department series will be replaced with a biting wit.2
Jack Sterling, Iron and Copper, Aubrey Finch, Light Racer, etc.
If none of these words mean anything to you, you are in good company. They are a lot of stories that I’m working on, both by myself and with friends. Some of them are far along in production - nearly ready to publish, and some are still in idea stages… and one of them has been worked on for nearly twenty years. 👀
Stay tuned for more info coming VERY soon. Lots of reading content is coming your way.
“Trust the Process”
Hopefully it will be. I suppose that depends on my abilities as an author.
