Inside me, there are two wolves. It’s furry and itchy and my insides are howling. No, but really: there are two wolves, or two halves of a person at least. Look, I can keep vamping here at the top or you can get to the good stuff.
Wolf # 1: Ben Wyatt
Yes, wolf 1 is a fictional character from parks and rec.
Ben is both parts nerdy and cool (to nerdy accounting people at least). I feel like I can empathize with that. He also loves a really great leader, and I can identify with being the spouse to someone destined for great things (shout to muh wiiiiiiiife). Ben is dependable, loyal, and hyper-focused. He also designed a board game, and I happen to do that a lot with my friends.
He’s also just kinda boring and sweet, and he holds the group together.
Wolf # 2: Andy Dwyer
YES, wolf 2 is another fictional character from parks and rec.
Andy is great considering how truly awful he was in the first season of parks and rec, and how magnificent he became (Johnny Karate, anyone?!) by the end of the show’s run. What I love about Andy, and I’ve come to identify with, is a complete sense of earnestness in caring and liking what he likes regardless of what others think. Andy - much like the dude – abides. He’s around to have fun, and that joy is contagious. When I’m in an Andy zone, my kids are chasing me around and having a blast.
So… to sum up
Celebrate the different sides of you and let them shine. Okay… so this takeaway point was all just an excuse for me to show some love to Parks and Recreation because I freaking love that show.
My favorite show!
