Some of you know me as a writer, some as a son, husband, nephew, or in-law.
However, over the last 19 years, I have worked in the nonprofit sector, and since 2019, I have been involved in direct human services. Human services sounds so cold and detached, but what it really means is that I want people to have access to food, healthcare, a home, and education. I think most people do.
I’ve just been blessed with a job that keeps me close to the work of making that possible.
I’ve been working with SAMMinistries since 2023, adding to the conversation around homelessness and encouraging awareness and support from people who want to make sure everyone has a place to call home. SAMMinistries serves over 3,000 individuals every year, 40% are children. And in a community where nearly half of our people live paycheck to paycheck, that number could grow.
